David and Kristin asked Team Jayne to help with the design and coordination of their wedding reception as they had already been married at their ceremony in California on April 3rd at a beautiful vineyard. Between their Ceremony and Reception, David & Kristen traveled to Japan for their honeymoon. Everything new we learned about this couple just emphasized how amazing and totally cool they were. Kristin really loves art, they love to travel the world together, and (like us) they love finding the best spots for food.
When putting together the look and feel of the reception, David & Kristin loved the idea of non-traditional so they stuck to an industrial, modern space (Room 1520, thanks for the perfect backdrop!) and a mainly white palette with small pops of color, which gave the entire space a modern, art gallery vibe.
For a modern twist on the all white theme, we spray painted all of our fruit decor white and put them in still-life arrangements throughout the reception.
Instead of using all white linens, we custom dyed gray ombre’ linens for a subtle pop of color. We also called in Luft Balloons to help us attain our vision of a super cool balloon ceiling installation!
When it came time for music and dancing, the DJ kept it all very hip and modern. This reception was full of young people so everyone was on the dance floor, it felt a lot like a club!
One of our favorite parts of this wedding were these handmade custom menus we hung from the ceiling. We love every opportunity to create something unique that hasn’t been done before.
