Where oh where has Katie Jayne gone….

Yikes! Its been over 20 days since my last blog. Uck. I can feel the pile of images waiting to be posting screaming at me “we deserve our time to shine!” sorry pile, you will have to wait. So why have I been so busy, well that my friends that is a little secret. I CAN tell you that Jayne Weddings is in the midsts of starting a sister company….which you will all love. But enough about that, we have been MIA because we are so busy getting ready for Indie Wed! The best wedding show ever. If you are planning on going this year, here are some tips sent of the ladies over at Indie Wed. Hope to see you there!

Indie Wed is this coming Saturday!

Just a reminder that Indie Wed is just under ONE WEEK from today. We hope you plan to join us.

With over 100 amazing vendors, food tastings, beer pairings, live music, wandering models, free workshops and so much more, this really is THE event to end all wedding events. The show runs from 10am until 4pm at the Ravenswood Event Center, 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave. There is plenty of free parking available along Ravenswood Ave or we are just a half block from the ‘L’.

Musical performance will run throughout the day on the first floor. A schedule can be foundonline.

Fun and informative workshops will be held all day long and are free to attend. You must have a general admission ticket for the event however. While the workshops are free, pre-registration in suggested as space is limited. It also helps our presenters prepare.
You can purchase admission tickets and sign up for workshops here.

For the first 50 couples in line, we have an amazing reusable, silkscreened swag bag filled to the brim with some spectacular goodies from many of our vendors.

Never attended Indie Wed before? Here are some great tips for making the most of your day.
1. Bring a bag – vendors will have plenty of handouts so bring a bag you can put everything in.
2. Contact info labels – preprinted labels with your info saves you from having to fill out mailing lists multiple times
3. Bring a notepad/pen – a great way to take notes of things you see that you like and vendors you want to contact after the show.
4. Know your budget – having your budget in mind will help you focus in on vendors who fit the bill (literally)
5. Bring your checkbook or credit card – many vendors will be taking deposits and this is a great way to make sure you snag that vendor for your big day before anyone else does.
6. Walk down every aisle on BOTH floors – the show is large with vendors and two floors. Make sure you walk down every aisle or you may miss that hidden gem.
7. Enjoy!

If you still have yet to purchase your tickets, please do so soon. Tickets will be sold online until noon of Friday, January 27th. Afterwards tickets will be available at the door for $20 per person.

We can’t wait to see you next week.
Kelly & the Indie Wed Gang!
